Guest teachers in haryana will likely to remain in their posts after 31st march,2012. Principal secretary and financial commissioner of Haryana Mrs Surina Rajan pleaded before the hon'ble High court of Punjab and Haryana in affidavit to give more time for regular appointment up to 30th September,2012. In similar affidavit in march 2011 last year government has requested to the court to give time up to December,2011 while hearing of cwp 6090/10. Consequently court has set the deadline to remove the guest teachers on or before 31st march, 2012 and directed to complete the regular appointment during course of this time. In affidavit filed before the court govt has sited many reasons in delay of appointment process like model code of conduct was in force due to by election in the state and Haryana teachers eligibility test could not be conducted well in time. Now govt has constituted teachers selection board in haryana by a notification and haryana assembly has also ratified the bill regarding the formation of teachers selection board in the state. This action of the state government will dampen the chances of selection of HTET qualified candidates in the state. But after six years of serving in the schools guest teachers need their due and govt is serious about various demands of the guest teachers including regularization. Guest teachers case is dragged in various courts of law, now it has become difficult for the government to handle the very delicate situation. On one hand government cannot oust guest teachers in one go, on the other hand govt has to pacify the large number of Haryana teacher's eligibility test pass candidates those are in hope of regular appointment in state education department.
