This time again teachers recruitment in Haryana suffered a setback due to a stay order of hon-able high court of Punjab and Haryana. a petition filed by Shiwani Gupta and others contented before the court that inspite of their better consistent academic record and having passed Haryana teachers eligibility test (HTET) govt is providing undue preference to guest teachers by exempting them of passing HTET and making their way clear in appointment to the regular posts by lifting other conditions also. This is worth mentioning here that govt exempted teachers of qualifying HTET, those who have four years of teaching experience in govt ,govt aided and recognised schools ,most of the candidates which come under preview of this condition are guest teachers. However qualifying teachers eligibility test is mandatory for teachers teaching upto 8th class under right to education act (RTE) passed by parliament , central govt objected to decision of Haryana Govt for providing such exemptions , but finally Haryana govt pacified and persuaded central govt that all such exempted category teachers if selected to regular posts they have to clear eligibility test within two years and such exemption is one time only another point they made that we have a large pool of experienced teachers and as a one time opportunity to them, our schools will get experienced teachers if selected. But high court seems not persuaded by these arguments of govt, contention is that if a teacher fails to pass a eligibility test then what kind of experience is worth use? Bench of justice Suryaknat issued a notice for 10th September ,allowed all exempted category teachers to appear in provisional interview but ordered to withheld the final results until the final decision of this case.
